Thankful Thursday....

I have so much to be thankful for! Here are just a few that randomly come to my mind as I type....(as if I ever have a non-random thought, right??)

Tonight is graduation at the local high school, and there are some graduates in this class that I am particularly close to. (In fact, one of them has worked with us all week to get in our hay.) I am so very thankful for the opportunity to know these young adults. They are such wonderful additions to our life, and to this community, and to our church. I wish them all the best as they begin this new chapter in their lives.

I am thankful today that I have a dentist appointment. This will allow me to get my teeth cleaned instead of working in the hay field all day! I will only have to work the second half of the day which ends early due to graduation! Yea!

I am thankful that my son is surrounded by people who love him and are praying for him...."it takes a village to raise a child"....I believe this saying is true!

I am thankful that I live in a small town. I love that when I go to the grocery store or the dollar store (those are about all we have) that I know most people there, and they talk to my son, and can tell me who he looks like, or acts like. Or if I have to run to the restroom, there are always people to watch him. Thanks Tonya & Cindy B!

On this Memorial Day weekend, I am thankful for all who serve and have served. I often think of my friend, Jeremy. But I do especially on Memorial Day. He was killed in 2002 in a helicopter crash during a training mission in the Philippines. (training for the Attack on Terror war that continues today) They found 8 of the 10 who were killed. They did not find my friend's body. I had many dreams that they found him alive,...I can't imagine how many of these his mom has had.... Thank you, Jeremy, for your service to our country,...but thank you most of all for the friendship,..the laughs, which were always plentiful in your presence. I know you rest with God.

What a wonderul list! I linked through from Thankful Thursdays and am so happy I did! I can't wait to read more from your blog! Enjoy the graduation ceremony as well. I grew up in a small town also and have the same experiences when I go home to visit! There is something very charming about knowing people everywhere you turn. Blessings to you, from Japan!

What an awsome list. I know what you mean about small towns. I grew up in one and while I am still here it is growing and losing its small town appeal and I do miss it.

Have a blessed weekend.

This is my first visit to your blog. Great colors. Do you have arm animals?

I didn't know about "Laugh Out Loud Monday" I'm going to check it out. I see you are blog hooked too. I created a memes list on my blog you might want to view. See link on top left.

Small towns are special.

Hope all goes well at your dentist appt. Prayers for Jeremy's family this weekend. I'll be posting a tribute to my hubby on Memorial Day.

I'm sure this must be a bittersweet holiday for your friend Jeremy's family as well. Thank God for Jeremy and soldiers like him - we owe them so much!

Another great list!! Thank you for remembering our troops. We should all take time to remember them in our prayers. Not just this weekend, but always, for their sacrificial service to ensure our freedom. Your blog blesses me!!

Your layout is quite spunky, love it!, Thanks for sharing the brief story on your dear friend Jeremy, I cant imagine what that must have been like, and continue to be like for his close friends and family. Much thanks again for sharing.

Great post. My brother-in-law's nephew died in Iraq back in October...their family has been through so many changes since then because of his death. It is difficult to lose anyone, but especially the way men and women are serving and giving their lives for their country right now. We have a lot to be thankful for here in our country, not the least of which are the brave servicemen (and women) who sacrifice so much. Thanks for the reminder of what the upcoming holiday is about...you hit the nail right on the head and I am grateful.

Memorial Day is an awesome day to remember. Here we have Anzac day which is roughly a similar thing. I thank God for our soldiers here in NZ.

You are too cute--you are thankful for the dentist appointment in order to work only half a day :). Awesome that you have such wonderful youth in your town who will help you on your farm. May our Lord continue to guide them as they start a new path...
So sorry to hear that your friend lost his life on a mission to serve this country. I have to say (although a little selfish), I am glad that my husband didn't had to go to war when he served this country.
Thank you so much for sharing your thankfulness with us this past week. I am so sorry that I just made it tonight to read your post.

Be blessed today and always.
