In Other Words....

"Busyness is not a spiritual gift."
From an interview with
~ Lisa Harper ~

This is SO true! It is so often we find ourselves so bogged down with the busy things to do around the church, and not the WORSHIP part of church! I know that I have been guilty of this in my life. I can get so worried about "getting ready" for a Sunday school lesson, or an event at the church, or right now bible school. The first thing I thought about was what I would need to decorate the room, not preparing my lessons for the week. Bible School isn't until June and I have already had to take a step back and remember WHY we are actually doing this! I pray that God will help me to remember the reason for the work that needs to be done, and not get carried away with the preparation!

It is true, isn't it? I often times miss the meaning when I'm too busy preparing.

Thanks for sharing!

As a music director I have the same problem with preparation before worship. It's good to take that step back and refocus!

Good reminder! BTW, may I borrow your heading that says "blogs I read when I should be doing housework"? What a hoot and so appropriate for your's truly.

Blushing here,

You know, sometimes it is so hard to not get wrapped in the preparation. You heart is ready for the study, but your mind has not followed it yet...

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the past week's quote :)...Hope to see you Tuesday at 'my place'.

Blessings to your and yours.
