...okay so I spent my Monday driving to Atlanta with my photographer sister and my 10 month old to go to a photography tradeshow at the airport convention center. Now my sister and personal photographer extrordinaire wanted me to go with her to give her a "mom's" perspective on what's new and exciting in the world of professional photography. Well, let me just say......I bet she won't do THAT again! One thing I may not have mentioned about my baby is that he is the ultimate social butterfly! He NEVER meets a stranger and LOVES to go anywhere that involves him in his stroller. Now, having said that, let me say this. He is also my husband's son, and for those of you who know my husband, what is his entire family notorious for?....THEY ARE LOUD! Am I not correct? Anyway, this is a trait my son will obviously share in because he is loud as well!
So here is the picture: This place is packed, I'm pushing my child in his stoller and he is sitting up grabbing at anyone or anything he can get his hands on and all the while squealing and hollerin like nobody's business. My poor sister keeps trying to put in his pacifier or give him a toy, but he's not having it! He throws it with all his might, then looks at you with those big brown eyes and says, "uh oh"...then gives you his best 2 tooth grin!
They also had the entries into the photo competition hanging on these big white pieces of silk hanging from the ceiling. My sister had already been talking about how much money went into these photos. Evidently the photog has to reproduce the image many many times to get it just right for the competition, and these pics were printed on some really cool paper. Lots of them on these awesome metallic papers which I'm sure are really pricey! Anyway, my little fellow was really intrigued by all this floaty white material flapping in the breeze as we strolled past. He was grabbing and reaching and clawing and pawing and doing everything in his power to get a good hold on that silk! His mom was praying and begging and pleading and threatening and practically running while pushing this pee wee maniac away from all that EXPENSIVE photography! Needless to say after that near disaster we sat far far away from the floaty white fabric for the rest of the show while his mom's nerves calmed down before she had to drive in the Atlanta traffic again. Then we drove home, but of course we HAD to stop off in Calhoun at the fabulous outlet center for some retail therapy! I'm ALLLLL better now!! I'm also exhausted and going to bed.

HAHAHA :)
The joys of little ones! :)
I will say, I am glad that the "floaty fabric" was safe- it may have caused a tragedy for both mother(you)and the creator of the artistic venture!
I love your stories Deedra! I wish my life was more full of interesting happenings sometimes- I feel like the book I would write, would be all about reading stories, diapers, raising chillins', and housework! :)
Glad you had a great shopping trip too- you are right, outlets are GREAT therapy :)
Well, she got the Mom's perspective alright!
Retail therapy solves all =) Oh my goodness I think we have all been there, and we come home and say "What in the world was I thinking!" hehehe
Atlanta, huh? You were about 30 minutes from me! Nothing is ever dull with a little one, that is certain!
Well who can resist floaty white fabric, right?! Too cute! Those would have been some priceless photos...she should have taken advantage of the moment!!!
Glad you had fun and nothing was broken! Shopping makes any day better!
After four, you learn just to stay home..:)
