Does anybody remember the old self tanning products from the 70's and 80's? Q. T. I believe it was called? Myself and my sister, and probably even my mother have a pretty vivid memory of the stuff due to the fact that my nosey little self, and my nosey little sister decided once that we wanted to Quick Tan just like mom.
We ended up being about the color of rust.
For days.
Lovely.
So, a few weeks ago,....prebaby...pre lack of sleep...I decided to buy myself some gradual self tanner for after baby when my body image is completely shot (not that it was great at any point, but all you moms get my drift!) because everybody knows any body looks better tanned,....right? And since I do not tan unless my freckles manage to connect themselves and I refuse to use a tanning bed (because I've HAD a skin cancer removed and it was NOT fun!) this gradual self tanner seemed to be the perfect answer............at the time.
Let me just leave you with this image:
Sleep deprived.
Barely getting a shower.
Decides to use gradual self tanning lotion.
NOT a pretty sight.
yeah, go ahead and say it.
"ya big barely showered sleep deprived QT'd Dummy!"
Needless to say, I will not be leaving the house for a few days.

I have had my experiences with the QT stuff. There is never anything fun about being orange and resembling an Oompa Loompa. If the pool chlorine would have dyed my hair green, Willy Wonka would have seriously been calling me! There is a kind that I have now that is WONDERFUL. It's called Malibu Hemp Golden Glow. The best part about it is that it is Skin Firming. To me, that was especially important after Clayton left me a little on the flabby side.
The paint looks a whole lot better! We have a brown room, too. Not too dark, not too light. Just brown. I liked it when it was being painted because Greg was the one doing it and not me! LOL
Okay, so I understand the not leaving the house thing, but c'mon! How 'bout pictures??

Where's the pic! You gotta have a pic of yourself!
I'm with ya on the tanning thang...or lack thereof. I just blister, peel, water bubbles, peel some more, and freckle!
I'm using Dove gradual tan...and it's working pretty good...I don't look like an organge peel...yet:)
You poor thing! Being a red haed myself, I do remember that stuff! I tried it on my legs for cheer leading...Still upsets me to think about it. I have the freckle thing too.
I have used the Banana Boat gradual lotion stuff on my legs and it has a better look for me.
Most all of us have tried the "fake the bake" stuff and had similar experiences- I won't use the stuff to this day because the kind I used would come out on my clothing when I sweated, so I ended up ruining a whole summers' worth of shirts almost :P
Hopefully your issues will clear themselves up soon!!! :)
Sooooooo.......I really need to know where you do all your pictures that your give out of C and L! They are all so adorable! I want to do something like that for my family! If you would share your secret I would really appreciate it! Sorry this has nothing to do with your blog story! Although I have been there done that too!!!
Love

Just attribute it all to the lack of sleep and crazy-I-just-had-baby-hormones.
During your QT days, did you ever use Sun-In on your hair??? Ahh...memories. :)
Yes, I do remember QT. YUCK!
We really should see a pic though to see the ful effect!
Sorry!
I certainly remember the QT stuff also. I have been the color of rust many times, expecially around the ankles. Maybe it will wash off soon. Have a good weekend girl!
Thank you for your sweet thoughts and comments. We are so ready to get this baby boy here.:)
I hope you and your new little one are doing great!!!!
Oh, I too am wondering where is the picture of this gradually tanned leg....come on the suspense is killing me
