...hello? a little warning please! My 9 and a half month old genius baby surprised me yet again today. He has been barely pulling up and doing a bit of cruising around the furniture for a week or so with little improvement. Well, right before my eyes today, he pulled himself right up and took right off! I can't imagine how far he would have gotten had he not stopped midstep to give himself the congratulatory clap he has become accustomed to! It's a good thing he did clap for himself though, because Mom could only stand mouth open staring. The next thought that came to me was, Oh no! I will never keep up with him now!! I completely was NOT prepared for this! I thought I had until at LEAST 12 months before he would be walking, maybe I'd even hit the jackpot and get a late walker! Oh well! I certainly will not complain about having a baby that is healthy, and able to walk.
I did get a bit of a scare tonight though. During his bath I noticed a knot on his head right about where the soft spot is. It was red like he'd bumped it on something, only he had only fallen one time that I know of with tears involved and he hit the side of his face that time. So Mom goes into panic mode! The poor Dr assures me it is probably fine since he doesn't act like it hurts when I touch it, and he doesn't have a fever. She probably does think his Mom needs some medical help, or at least some medication , for the frantic behavior due to a bump on the head. I thought for sure she would want to see my darling infant immediately! Maybe even send a helicopter to pick him up! She did neither. She did pacify me by telling me if the knot is not smaller by morning, bring him in. Okay. I can live with that. .I am not, however, one of those call-the-Dr-every-little-thing kind of Moms, this is actually the very first time for me. And I probably wouldn't have called this time except the events of the week weighed heavy on my mind and, of course my mind wandered.....anyway, thank the Lord for my healthy baby and if the knot is there come morning, pay no attention to the crazy lady in the SUV passing you all on the interstate!

Yea! Sounds like my Zack, he was "off and running" early too! Next thing you know, you'll blink and he'll be backing out of the driveway in his own car!
Enjoy every moment!
