.......Can you even believe that Thanksgiving is a week from today?? And a week from tomorrow I'll be pestering my husband to bring down all of my Christmas decorations..(oh yeah, he's so tickled about the fact that I'll actually NEED his help decorating this year!) Anyway, I've gotten lots of emails asking about how I'm doing so I thought I'd sign on for an update. I'm doing MUCH better! I'm almost 20 weeks and the morning/all day sickness is finally easing up some. Woohoo!! I'm tired alot but that really isn't due to the pregnancy that would be due to the fact that Carter is practicing up on his latest talent......climbing!!
Good grief! This kid climbs on everything! He isn't afraid of anything or anyone. Seriously. On Halloween, we came across a dude in a really nasty mask who growled and made hissing noises at us.....kinda scared me, actually.....not Carter! He growled back!...lol
Anyway, back to the climbing. He has managed to climb up into the kitchen sink, by way of a highchair (which he moved himself) 2 recliners and an end table. He has climbed out of his crib twice and jumped from the crib to our bed a time or two as well. I went to the bathroom this morning and while I was in there, I could hear him saying "deer, deer"...evidently, he found a great place to watch the deer.....
..oh, and did I mention that right before we left for vacation he rode his tractor down the porch steps? Brick ones?...Yeah, I'd just moved it from the yard to the porch in case it rained while we were gone and turned to close the back door of my vehicle (we were literally leaving that minute!) Only to turn around and see Carter heading off the top step. I got there just in time to keep him from hitting the concrete at the bottom, but he'd still bounced end over end all the way down the steps. When I picked him up, the first thing I saw was a hunk of skin, with 5 or 6 eyelashes attached to it, laying on his cheek. It didn't actually cut his eye, but it was close!...REAL close! Anyway, he spent his vacation looking like this (and this picture doesn't really show the extent of it!)....
.....but he had a blast,....black eye and all! Also, apparently it's a really important feat if when a farmer wrecks his tractor, he doesn't let go of the steering wheel. I can't tell you how many people have asked me if he let go....Just for the record,..he didn't.
Check this one out,....does he not look like he owns the place?? Is this not a farmer if you ever saw one??
...sooooo I just bought a travel first aid kit for my bag, and a jumbo one for home. 'Cause I'm thinking little farmer Carter is gonna give me a serious run for my money!.....(not to mention my energy!!)

Miss you girlfriend, just wait. I think the Emergency room knows us by name now. We have had staples in the head (with two kids), stitches, glue (they use glue now). What is funny is it is the same two boys, I keep teasing my middle son that he is saving it up for one big break (arm, leg, etc...).
Take care of yourself.
I was so glad for the update, I've been check daily! I'm sorry to see Carters BIG BOO BOO, but I'm glad he's a bruiser for your sake (meaning, he gets hurt and moves on rather quickly) Samuel is a wimp in a true sense of the word (which is good for me, because it shows he is sensitive, not hardnosed like his brother and dad) :)
Samuel and I pray for you all the time in our nightly prayers, just so you know :)
I miss reading your posts more often but definately would understand the inability to post due to pregnancy sickness.....
Poor Carter! But praise the Lord he is ok.
Goad to hear from you and look forward to the next check in!
Blessings!

That child is a doll - think some of the rough and toughness of the preacher's kids that love him so is rubbing off? Please tell me that are having some kind of positive influence other than seeing how fast they can run through the sanctuary when church is over. :)
Have a great day, girl!

Glad to see you are doing well. Thanks for the comment. I will keep that in mind about the nurse, if I have a mond by that time! Thanks for praying!
Glad to hear you're doing well! On the topic of climbers, I had a friend who's son was a major chocoholic. She has always had to hide the sweets from him. One time she came into the kitchen to find him- no joke- perched on top of the refrigerator, smiling and eating the forbidden chocolate that was stored there. She has NO idea how he managed to get up there! I, however, know how he got down, and I bet he didn't sit on his bottom again for a while! :)
Glad all is well with you. Your little farmer man is a doll.
So glad to hear from you. Glad you are feeling better. Speaking as a mom of 3 boys...there's gonna be lots more of those accidents...especially if you have one of those explorer types (and I think you do). Just keep the insurance paid up...you'll probably have lots of those ER visits. But, I'd much rather have a child who is inquisitive and interested in the world around him than one who is afraid to try anything. It just puts lots of grey hair in a mom's head! Enjoy it all..my baby is now in grad school...and I fondly remember those fun days when I could hold him and tossle his hair. Treasure these days.
Glad to see that you got a chance to write. I know that little ones can be a hand full. You are right, he looks like a true farmer in these pics. He is changing so much. It seems like his looks change from one Sunday to the next. He is so cute!!!!!!
I'm glad you are feeling better and doing so well.
I'm so there with you on the climbing. I am constantly finding Lilla on top of things that scare the snot out of me. I can't believe she hasn't done more damage than a few black eyes, and a couple trips to the ER! LOL!
